Our new building is almost finished!

A year ago, we moved into the old police station at 6 Parsons Street while our new premises were being built. When construction began on Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia’s new building, it was expected we’d be away for 8 months. As is usually the case with any project this size, things took a little longer here and there and it’s now been 12 months, but the big move is just around the corner and we expect to move in by the end of this month!

In just a few short weeks, we will finally be moving into our wonderful new building that the team at Asbuild have been working hard on to complete. The new building looks great and we really can’t wait to move in, continuing to help local women seeking safety, support and recovery from trauma. We’d like to give a big shout out to our amazing shelter staff who have continued to provide a 24-hour service, under incredibly challenging circumstances over the past year.

Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia (WoSSCA) is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation that operates on a feminist framework and is committed to assisting and enabling women and children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the land we work on, as the first people of this country. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders past, present and emerging.

Our vision is for greater safety, respect and dignity for all women and their children in Central Australia.
