Learn the skills to discuss strongly held differing perspectives about challenging, sensitive or uncomfortable topics which evoke emotions.
This workshop, designed for everyone, teaches participants how to have conversations safely when the stakes are high for the wellbeing of individuals or the strength of their relationships. For example, if you are giving an employee negative feedback, or returning a call from a client who is heightened or if you are asking a colleague to change their behaviour in the workplace.
Participants will learn:
- How to de-activate your own stress response
- Learn how to listen deeply to de-escalate the stress response of the other person
- How to communicate assertively
- How to engage effectively when conflict is high
- How to adapt your approach in the context of differing personalities, generations and cultures.
The workshop is facilitated by Helen Jarvis (Ripple Learning). Helen is a Nationally Accredited Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Counsellor, Coach, Facilitator of Restorative Engagement conferences and Clinical Supervisor in private practice. Helen brings an in-depth mix of change management experience, mediation and corporate coaching.
